Crypt and Share - A System for Safe and Simple Large Size Data Exchange
NEED (The Customer problem/need resolved with this solution)
The Customers frequently need to exchange confidential data inside the company and with their external Partners. Electronic mail is commonly used for this purpose. Unfortunately, electronic mail has its limitations and drawbacks and cannot be used at all times. The biggest problem is how to exchange large data files, e.g. CD content. All electronic mail systems have their electronic mail attachment size limitations. For current needs, these limitations are fairly restrictive, typically allowing about 10 Mbytes. Even when the Customer is able to send data over the electronic mail, the electronic mail system becomes overloaded with a large number of sizable mails and the Sender does not receive any email receipt confirmation. The Customers take efforts to resolve the above mentioned problems over the Web or FTP Server, but in that case the problem includes anonymous User separation and identification, User Account Management, particularly for Users with single data exchange and development of system use statistics.
SOLUTION (What does the solution offer?)
The OpenTrust product, Crypt and Share, is the solution for the Customers with this type of needs. This solution provides safe document exchange irrespective of document size. The data are SSL crypted for protection during the exchange, and upon request, it is also possible to crypt every single document on the Server for data exchange purposes. The system Users are automatically notified by mail when a document is ready to be shared. It is possible to determine a specific time period during which the documents can be shared and how many times a User will be allowed to have an access to specific documents. User Name and Password are used for User identification, and it is also possible to use PKI Certificates, i.e. to use a single software token for external Users. The tokens are used for single downloading or uploading of data into the system without any need to open a User Account. It is possible to delegate administration of Closed User Groups and User authorizations. The Users can also use the original code to audit solution security, i.e. to add functions they might need. The solution has its integrated anti-virus protection, and also provides tracking of all documents shared over this system. The solution is very simple to use and requires only minimum User training.
