SOLUTION

Windows Update Services is a management infrastructure for patch distribution for all Microsoft products. This component is installed inside the corporate network behind the Firewall. The WSUS server allows the Administrator to distribute the patches from the central location.

This solution provides the optimum use of Internet bandwidths since the WSUS is the only server to download the patches from the Internet from the Microsoft Central Patch Repository.

The WSUS allows updating of every workstation (laptop, desktop and server computers) in the network with the latest patches issued by Microsoft.

In larger systems it is possible to control the installation time according to segments (e.g. remote locations that might have a weaker WAN link) without any Customer disturbance.  The patch installation can also be completely silent and invisible to the Customer.
